Mbabane – The Ministry of ICT’s Digital Eswatini Project team appeared before the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Friday, 22 May 2026, to present the Eswatini Digitalisation Programme and its role in transforming how government institutions operate.
The engagement centred on the Integrated Electronic Case Management System, known as IECMS, with discussions covering the objectives of the digitalisation programme, stakeholder readiness and the broader push to get government institutions to embrace digital transformation.
Mr. Nxumalo, representing the Digital Eswatini Project team, led a presentation on change management within the IECMS context and a stakeholder readiness assessment, making the case for why government institutions must take the lead in going digital.
During the session, he shared the Ministry’s vision for the Digital Eswatini Project: “EmaSwati should have access to the services of their government with dignity, speed, and confidence.”
Committee members were also taken through Eswatini’s projected digital transformation journey from 2026 to 2030, outlining government’s commitment to becoming more citizen-centred, data-driven and digitally capable in the delivery of public services.
The Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs used the occasion to showcase its own digital strides, presenting the IECMS platform and introducing members to the eCase system. Live demonstrations were conducted on criminal litigation workflows, land case management systems and civil litigation workflows, giving committee members a firsthand look at how the system works in practice.
