Mbabane – The Kenya High Commission wrapped up a two-day series of strategic visits and stakeholder engagements in Eswatini on Tuesday, hosted by the Department of Research, Science, Technology and Innovation under the Ministry of Information, Communications and Technology.
The visit was aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between Kenya and Eswatini across several sectors, including innovation, research, education, technology, agriculture and sustainable development.
The Kenyan delegation was led by Deputy High Commissioner Ambassador Sunya Orre Morongei, Deputy Head of Mission, accompanied by Education Attaché Lucy Musau. 
On Monday, the delegation visited the Research and Science Technology Park in Nokwane and Phocweni, where discussions centred on innovation ecosystems, investment opportunities, digital transformation and regional collaboration initiatives aimed at driving socio-economic development.
On Tuesday, the delegation moved to the University of Eswatini’s Luyengo Campus for presentations and meetings with a range of institutions and stakeholders. Those engaged included SEDCO, the Eswatini Sugar Association, the University of Eswatini Luyengo Campus, Malkerns Research Station, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy, Botho University and ECOT.
The engagements covered collaborative partnerships in research, innovation, entrepreneurship, agricultural development, digital skills and knowledge exchange.
The Ministry of ICT, through the Department of Research, Science, Technology and Innovation, thanked all participating institutions and stakeholders for their contributions and commitment to regional cooperation and sustainable development.
