Phnom Penh – The Government of Cambodia has officially dismissed as completely false a widely circulated online notice that ordered all Africans to leave the country by 31 May 2026, urging the public not to be misled by the fabricated document.
The fake notice, which spread rapidly across social media platforms, purported to be an official government communication giving Africans an ultimatum to exit Cambodia. The Government of Uganda confirmed it had received formal notice from Cambodian authorities clarifying that the forced exit order is fake.
Cambodia’s General Department of Immigration, under the Ministry of Interior, issued a press clarification from Phnom Penh on Thursday, 29 May 2026, pointing to two specific websites that published the false information, namely https://campaigneronline.com and https://www.newsghana.com, which ran stories claiming Cambodia had ordered Africans with expired immigration waivers to leave by 31 May 2026.
“The General Department of Immigration of the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia wishes to clarify that the information published on those websites is completely untrue,” the official statement read.
For Swazis and other Africans residing in or planning to travel to Cambodia, the General Department of Immigration urged the public to rely only on information sourced from its official website at www.immigration.gov.kh or to call its hotline directly at (+855) 78 38 66 99 for verified immigration information.
