Mbabane crime suppression operation leads to 47 arrests

Mbabane – A total of 47 suspects were arrested during a joint operation between the Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) and the city’s community policing fora. 

The REPS communication desk stated that it ran a successful crime suppression operation in Mbabane on May 29, 2026, in collaboration with the local community police from Msunduza, Macobolwane, Corporation, Mncitsini, Mangwaneni and Mahhwalala (Zones 1-6).

Police allege that different crimes and hazardous weapons were perpetrated, with suspects breaching the Liquor Act and the Crimes Act, “drinking in public, loitering in the city at night, failing to comply with permits and assault cases”.

Some suspects who were on the Mbabane police station wanted list were arrested during the operation.
