The Ministry of Economic Planning and Development, through its Microprojects Programme, has officially launched a Water, Sanitation and Hygiene project at Ngwazini Primary School under Kukhanyeni Inkhundla, bringing relief to a school that has long struggled with water shortages.

The launch was carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Training and in partnership with Engineers in Action, and was attended by the Member of Parliament for Kukhanyeni Inkhundla, who also serves as Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Apollo Maphalala.

Ngwazini Primary School Headteacher Sthembiso Mahazule told those gathered that the lack of a reliable water supply had for years negatively affected sanitation, daily school activities and the general wellbeing of both learners and teachers. He expressed gratitude for the project, saying it would restore dignity to learners and improve the overall school environment.

He added that the project reflects the Microprojects Programme’s commitment to improving livelihoods through strategic partnerships.
