Masvingo – The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) is channelling investment into responsible Artificial Intelligence as part of a wider push to make its services simpler, faster and more responsive to taxpayers.
The authority set out its position at the ZIMRA Board and Executive Management Workshop on Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Data Protection, held in Masvingo, where its Board Chairman opened proceedings and restated the organisation’s commitment to harnessing innovation for public benefit.
According to ZIMRA, the drive is aimed at improving taxpayer services, strengthening compliance, facilitating trade and protecting taxpayer data as revenue administration shifts increasingly towards digital systems.
“The future of revenue administration will be shaped by data, digital technologies and intelligent systems. Our responsibility is to ensure that ZIMRA leads this transformation responsibly, innovates with confidence and continues to serve the nation with excellence,” the Board Chairman said.
