MATSANJENI – Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo has visited Jeroma Manufacturing, a fast growing garment factory in Matsanjeni that is already supplying the South African market and creating hundreds of jobs for emaSwati.
The company, which produces overalls, jackets and shorts, started operations just three months ago and has already employed 310 people. Management says a further 90 workers are expected to be recruited within the next two weeks, expanding job opportunities for the surrounding community.
Khumalo, who was accompanied by Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) chief executive officer Sibane Mngomezulu, toured the facility and met staff. He commended Jeroma Manufacturing for choosing to invest in Eswatini and for creating meaningful employment close to where people live. 
He said he was pleased that residents of Matsanjeni and nearby areas no longer have to travel long distances in search of work, as the factory has brought jobs closer to home.
The Minister also thanked the company for its contribution to economic growth, job creation and better livelihoods for emaSwati, describing Jeroma’s progress as a strong example of how investment can change local communities for the better.
