Ngwane Park woman arrested for wedding decor scam

A 30-year-old woman from Ngwane Park is expected to appear in court tomorrow after being arrested on Saturday on two counts of theft by false pretences involving wedding and traditional ceremony decoration services.

The suspect was arrested at around 11am on April 18, 2026, after two men came forward to report that she had taken their money in exchange for decoration services that were never delivered.

In the first case, a 30-year-old man from Manzini City Centre flats reported that on April 4, 2026, at about 2:30pm, he was scammed out of E22,500 by the suspect, who had promised to provide decoration services for a wedding event he was hosting in Manzini.

The second case dates back to March 24, 2026, when a 34-year-old man from Mbabane allegedly paid the suspect E47,000 for decoration services for his lobola and umhlambiso ceremony at Siphofaneni area. The services were never rendered.

The two cases together amount to E69,500 in losses for the victims.

The Royal Eswatini Police Service confirmed the arrest and said the suspect will appear before court tomorrow to answer to both charges.
