Three senior officers from Big Bend Correctional facility were honoured on Monday during a farewell event marking the end of their careers in the His Majesty’s Correctional Services (HMCS).
Assistant Chief Officer Ernest Dlamini concluded 38 years of service, while Sergeants Jeremiah Maziya and Mbuyazwe Gina retired after 35 and 32 years respectively. The event, held within the prison grounds, was attended by fellow officers and senior staff.
Each retiree received a goat and a gift hamper in recognition of their commitment to the service.
Lubombo Regional Commissioner, Senior Assistant Commissioner Kenneth Dlamini, expressed appreciation to the staff for organising the event, noting the close bonds formed within the Correctional Services environment.
Speaking at the function, Ernest Dlamini encouraged serving officers to seek spiritual strength in navigating their responsibilities.
