Big Bend – A 71-year-old man from Nokwane, Lubulini, appeared in Big Bend Magistrate’s Court on March 25, 2026, facing charges of raping his 17-year-old neighbour.
Police reports indicate the alleged assault occurred on February 22, 2026, around 0500 hours inside the victim’s home. The girl went missing from her house at 0500 and returned two hours later. When her uncle asked about her whereabouts, she revealed what had happened.
Authorities opened a Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence (SODV) case. Preliminary investigations suggest the abuse may have been ongoing from December 2025 to February 2026. 
The suspect was arrested on March 24, 2026, at 1600 hours. He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to return to court on April 1, 2026, as investigations continue.
