Swakopmund, Namibia – The Eswatini Revenue Service is representing the Kingdom at the 2026 Southern Africa Inter Revenue Administration Games currently taking place in Swakopmund, Namibia, where sport, culture and regional cooperation are converging under one platform.
Team Eswatini joined fellow revenue authorities from across Southern Africa for the official opening ceremony, bringing traditional song and chant to the stage in a colourful display of national pride. Their performance added to a vibrant celebration that blended athletic competition with cultural expression.
The games, hosted by the Namibia Revenue Agency, have drawn participating institutions from the region to compete in various sporting codes while also strengthening professional ties. For ERS, the event provides an opportunity to promote staff wellness, teamwork and cross border collaboration with sister administrations. 
Speaking at the official opening, Namibia Revenue Agency Commissioner Sam Shivute said sport plays a critical role within public service institutions.
“These Games bring people together,” he said, adding that while revenue agencies are central to service delivery, officials must also engage in sport to maintain physical wellbeing and build stronger working relationships.
He noted that SAIRAG offers a platform for institutions to connect, exchange ideas and work collectively to address common challenges faced by revenue administrations in the region.
On the track and field, the hosts have made a strong start. The Namibia Revenue Agency is currently leading in athletics across the women’s, men’s and mixed divisions as competition intensifies in Swakopmund.
Swakopmund Mayor Cllr Suamma Kautondokwa welcomed the teams to the coastal town and thanked the Namibia Revenue Agency for selecting the municipality as host. She said events of this scale contribute to local economic activity and increase the town’s visibility across the region. She also described the games as a celebration of unity and cooperation among Southern African nations.
The opening ceremony transformed into a showcase of Southern Africa’s cultural diversity, with teams dressed in bold patterns, intricate beadwork and traditional garments symbolising their national identities.
Namibia’s team declared its readiness with the rallying call “One Namibia, One NamRA, One Vision!” as athletes from Eswatini and other participating countries continue to compete across disciplines at the ongoing regional games.
