Mbabane – Princess Sakhizwe led a high-level delegation on a tour of Dr Sishayi Road in Mbabane on Thursday to assess readiness ahead of the Made in Eswatini Consumer Fair, set to take place on May 1, 2026.

The tour also served as the platform for key sponsorship announcements. Lactalis Eswatini Marketing Manager Lucky Phiri announced a sponsorship of E60 000 towards the fair, a significant contribution from the country’s leading dairy producer. Eswatini Wire, also known as Swazi Wire Industries, the country’s major manufacturer and distributor of steel, was also confirmed as a sponsor.

Mbabane City Council CEO Gciniwe Fakudze led the official venue tour, which has been described as a defining moment for urban economic activation and local enterprise growth in the capital.

The Made in Eswatini Consumer Fair has grown into the Kingdom’s leading platform for promoting locally produced goods and driving the Buy Local campaign by connecting businesses and producers to boost economic growth. The fair also serves as a showcase of Eswatini’s self-reliance and the quality of homegrown products.

Mbabane will take centre stage on May 1 as the city hosts this year’s edition of the fair, which is hosted by A Peculiar People and is expected to give Emaswati an opportunity to support local businesses and contribute to the country’s economic growth.
