Ezulwini Municipality has successfully held its inaugural council elections for the 2026/2027 term, marking a significant moment for local governance in the royal town.

Councillor Comfort Hlophe of Ward 4 was elected unopposed as the new Council Chairperson. Accepting the position, he expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him, acknowledged the outgoing Chairperson’s leadership, and pledged commitment, unity, and dedicated service to the people of Ezulwini.

Councillor Bongile Mbingo of Ward 3 was elected Vice Chairperson, bringing experience and a readiness to support effective council operations.

On the Finance Committee, Councillor Sandile Dlamini of Ward 2 was re-elected as Chairperson, with Councillor Dr. Edmund Mazibuko of Ward 1 serving as Deputy Chairperson. Councillor Darron Raw of Ward 3 continues as a committee member, tasked with ensuring financial oversight and sustainability.

The full council is rounded out by Councillor Refiloe Mamogobo of Ward 5, Councillor Jabulani Mathonsi, who is an appointed member, and Councillor Zodwa Dlamini, also appointed.

The newly constituted council takes over at a time when Ezulwini, one of Eswatini’s fastest-growing urban centres, faces increasing demands for service delivery, infrastructure development, and transparent governance.
