Mbabane – The Eswatini National Trust Commission and the Ministry of Tinkhundla Administration and Development brought together Community Development Officers from across the country on Thursday for a workshop aimed at collecting sex-disaggregated data on representation within traditional governance structures.
The workshop was held at George Hotel in Manzini and focused on capturing data at chiefdom and inkhundla levels, covering both community development and biodiversity conservation decision-making processes.
The exercise forms part of Eswatini’s reporting obligations under the Convention on Biological Diversity, and the data collected will be used to inform the design of gender-responsive community development and conservation initiatives across the kingdom. 
Organisers said accurate data is essential for understanding representation gaps and ensuring that both women and men are meaningfully included in the decision-making processes that shape how communities manage their natural resources.
