Women Unlimited marks World Environment Day at Mnyani school

Women Unlimited Eswatini joined the Eswatini Environment Authority and several development partners on Friday to mark World Environment Day at Dzanyana Primary School in the Mnyani community, under the theme “Climate Action through Restoring Rangelands and Reviving Biodiversity for a Sustainable Future.”

The event was supported by the European Union in Eswatini, the International Trade Centre Eswatini, and various government ministries including the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Eswatini National Commission for UNESCO and World Vision Eswatini.

Activities on the day included tree planting, rangeland rehabilitation, environmental conservation and awareness sessions on sustainable natural resource management, restoring degraded landscapes, protecting biodiversity and strengthening community participation in climate resilience.

Women Unlimited Eswatini said the day’s discussions and activities reinforced the value of collaborative and inclusive approaches to addressing environmental challenges and building community ownership of climate solutions, areas that align with the organisation’s ongoing work in environmental conservation, climate action and sustainable waste management.
